Goal review of 2015 goals :D

I saw Musume was doing hers and urging everyone to do the same. Just checked and saw I did something similar last year - so lets make it a tradition XD

My goals for 2016 will be in a later post, so this entry will only focus on whether or not I fulfilled my 2015 goals. ^^

Lets see:
1. Have money for customs
I received both my Dlights in one package, and was super scared about what I'd have to pay in Import and Customs. Luckily I got my girls home safe. I haven't had problems paying customs - only problems with customs messing around with my packages <__<"

2. Pay off my layaway for my Peak's Woods White Rabbit Dandy Tristan
I did!! It was such a relief. And he is now home with me where he belongs *____*~<3

3. Paint ALL my dolls - AND all my sisters dolls
Urgh! *Goes to hide in shame* Ehm...well...I did some XD' And I also didn't do some. I managed to paint my big PW dolls - even if just temporarily. I also did paint one of my sisters dolls...God I'm so terrible >_<"
I HAVE tried to finish more dolls, I'm just such a perfectionist that small mistakes haunt me forever and I usually end up wiping most of what I do ;__;"

4. Buy shoes, wigs, eyes and a little clothes for all my incoming dolls
Well, I had quite a lot of incoming dolls this year (I have received 5 dolls this year). Fitzwilliam doesn't have his own shoes yet, but he has wig, eyes and clothes. Both Freyah and Ophelia have shoes, wigs, eyes and some clothes. I bought some basic clothes and a wig with Ludwig so he isn't nude - and he came with eyes so he does have eyes right now - 1 pair of Maki eyes coming his way. ^^
Crow (srsl not sure what he should be named) came with his full set and a wig, so he is just waiting for his new eyes as well.
So for my incoming dolls - they are pretty decently dressed the lot.
Little Alice is actually done - well, as done as done goes for me. There can always be something to modify.

5. Get better at photographing my dolls
I don't think I have...I haven't done much photographing. This will definitely go on to be a goal for 2016 as well! >_<"
I'm actually wishing for a new lens for my camera this Christmas, so I hope that it will motivate me more. ^^

6. Keep doing this blog
Haha I did!! :D And I love it! And I want to keep doing it in 2016 as well! *^^*
I'm so happy to have gotten to know so many awesome people around the world through blogging, and I want to keep putting my stuff in here and enjoy reading other peoples entries as well. ^^

So the result: 4 out of 6 (I actually feared it was worse XD)

Some of this gave me a good idea for goals for 2016 as well. It was really interesting to go back and have a look at what I promised myself a year ago. Haha
I hope to be able to read my other blog-friends' entries about this, because its really fun to do (and a little embarrassing, but that is OK) XD

Happy New Year! How 2014 went and my plans for 2015!

I've been a little busy with the holiday and work, so this is the first time I've had time to write stuff on my blog.

To start with, I'd like to review my doll year of 2014.
I just took what I posted on RG. XD

I expect a very exciting 2014. I'll be receiving a small army of tinies from Peak's Woods. First my v.f. Lady Alice in blue-grey, then the next 4 tinies (2 whole, 2 heads) will join me. Those are the characters I've planned, and I really don't hope PW has huge plans on releasing new limited tinies this year, as I wouldn't be able to stop myself.
Haha I must admit I laughed at myself when I red this old post. XD
I did get all my tinies, and I love them very much, but it seems I got too tempted by another sort of limited editions in the end ;P

To fully equip all my 5 tinies incl. eyes and wigs.
Well, I did do that to my great satisfaction. I'm just sorry I haven't really been able to take photos. :(

To buy backdrops if I can find any that fits what I have in mind.
 I did get 3 backdrops...But I haven't really used them much >_<" They are awesome though! :D

Get a lot of faceups done on both mine and others' dolls.
I didn't really do many faceups. Only one that I kept and that was the one I did for Alice. :/ I had two of my sisters dolls laying around here to get faceups...and I haven't done a single one yet. And after my sister visited me for New Years Eve, I now have even more of her dolls staying for faceups XD'

Practice using my airbrush.
I did actually do this in the last few months of 2014. I feel a lot more confident now than before, but I still have a lot to learn ^^ I really love using my airbrush, and I hope I'll get better and better :D

Finish my sisters tiny Soom doe-girl and her Pipos Cheshire Cat.
Well, as mentioned before...I didn't do this ;__;" I hope I can make it up to her.

So those where the plans I had for 2014. Some I did, some I didn't. I really feel bad about not having done my sisters dolls. But I live in a dorm and don't want to poison my friends with MSC, so hopefully - now that I have gotten the Liquitex stuff - I'll be doing a lot of faceups from now on. ^^ *hope hope*

So! On to my plans for 2015 :D
Seeing as I completely ditched my "only tinies from now on" policy mid-way through 2014 and now have 3 SD-sized dolls coming home, I guess I need to do something for those too. ;)

Have money for customs

A little freaked out

I've been waiting for PW to confirm that they've received my money, but so far no luck. The money has been withdrawn from my account, so now it's really just a question if they received it.
I've checked and checked, and the mail I used is definitely the right one, so I have no idea what is taking this transaction so long.
My good (beautiful, amazing, lovely, fantastic, did I say amazing?) friend Anne took a look at my PayPal transaction and could not see anything wrong with it, so she advised me to try and ask PW again. So I did, and now I'll just have to wait and see what they'll reply tomorrow. Hopefully they just overlooked it or something. >__< I don't want to have to fight with PayPal to get my money back x__x"


On another note however, I went to the post office today to collect my Liquitex stuff. So guess what I'll be doing this weekend?? ;D
I'm really looking forward to start playing more with my airbrush. It will be so much fun ^^

1. Which was your first pair of shoes?
I remember they where those white-with-black-'ribbon'-J-rock-style platform shoes. Back in my teenage years when I was totally J-rock fanatic and had just bought my first doll - a Luts CP Delf Shine

2. Which type of doll shoes do you prefer?
Cute shoes in nice colors or with prints. I really like the Mary Jane silhouette. I also really like if there is some cute detail like a ribbon or a charm or such ;3

3. Do you have any grail pair?
I'm not really the type who has grail stuff...but I would love being able to afford some DollHeart shoes again some time XD

4. Anything that bothers you regarding doll shoes?
Sometimes I'm really frustrated that I cannot buy the same shoes for myself...

5. Do you prefer boots or heels/flats?
It totally depends on the character. But I guess I like looking at heels - mostly if they are sort of artistic or out-of-the-ordinary. I guess that's also why it sometimes annoys me that I cannot get them for myself XD

6. Any anecdote regarding your shoes?

It said "brown" on the Taobao page where I ordered these, but they turned out pretty black when I got them. But I still think they look great and Alice has happily worn them since. These where the first shoe-purchase I did from Taobao, and I was pretty surprised about the quality compared with the price :D


I'd love to nominate someone to do this too, but the ones I know have already been nominated - so easy beeing me. XD


P.S. Today I've been battling my airbrush trying to figure it out. I tried mixing my own paint - using gauge, medium and water, but I think it got too thin. Then again, the airbrush acrylics I've bought turned out to be a little too thick - maybe because I use an airbrush with a very small needle size...idk, but I'm not giving up >_<"

I noticed Lise from fushitebjd.blogspot.com had written she wanted me to answer these 11 questions, and I will <3

1. What is the next doll you have planned?
Well, if it's a full doll I actually have NO plans atm (freaky, I know).
I need to buy two bodies for two of my incoming girls - does that count? :D

2. Most people int the BJD hobby have characters for their dolls. Assuming you do too, how did the character come to be?
I guess it came gradually after I bought Alice. I had not planned to buy a doll at that time, but I couldn't help myself when I saw her. So then I decided I had to create a story about her, and along the road I decided to add more tinies to that equation. Loki and Lucy were the first ones, they are the ones who discover Alice as she arrives in 'our world'. Next came Nellie and Annabelle. I've always wanted a pair of twin dolls, but having two sisters who are twins, I know that they are not really identical and so I made them with different personalities. They are the ones who discover Alice's lost sidekick cat and that way gets spun into the story.

3. Do your dolls have a theme song, and if so which one(s)?
Not at the moment no. I havn't thought that far, sorry >_<"

4. Where do you prefer to talk about dolls? (DoA, blogs, Tumblr, other?)
I'm most active on Resin Garden (the Danish BJD society), blogs and DoA. Also DeviantArt at times.
I had Facebook once, but I ended up deleting my profile as I got too annoyed with it...XD

5. What do you like most about the doll hobby?
I think the multiple creative aspects of the hobby are just really appealing to me. And I've always like pretty stuff ;3
The community around the hobby is also a great factor to make it an fantastic hobby. The way information, ideas, tutorials etc are shared is just awesome. Also the fact that you get to see other BJD peoples dolls and tastes and what not is just so inspiring. ^^

6. What do you like the least about the doll hobby?
All the problems with recasts and that. :(

7. Do you dream of any kind of doll that does not yet exist?
Well, I play with ideas sometimes, but as I like regular human dolls the most (and my vampire girl <3) I feel like I would be able to find the dolls I want already. I still let my imagination run wild sometimes though.

8. Do you have any irl friends who share your hobby?
Yes. I love talking with my doll-friends. It's so nice and stimulating (in a non-gross way :P). Like if I have an idea but am unsure if it will work, I can ask my friends what they think. I like that.
I'm also very lucky to have two of my younger sisters in the hobby as well, so I get to talk dollies a lot, yay!

9. If you could get 1 free doll right now, which doll would you choose?
I seriously don't know.....uhmm....let's see....maybe Peak's Woods LE Back to 1920's? She is SO gorgeous! .....Or maybe a Ringdoll Julia....*Brain goes up in smoke* XD

10. Have you gotten any new friends through the doll hobby?
Yes! A lot of new friends actually, and that is just plain awesome! They are all very nice and friendly :D

11. Honestly, do you think you'll ever lose your interest in dolls?
I'm pretty confident that I'll never lose interest, but if I look at the statistics of my previous interests *draws chart and calculates numbers* I'm more often losing interest in things than keeping them XD
But I think it would take a lot of effort for me to lose my interest in the dolls. ;P

I guess, as this is a sort of chain letter thingy, and that I am supposed to send some questions to some other peoples blogs and stuff, but I only really know 3, so I think I'll interview people in stead at a later time >:D I'm so bad. Muhahaha
