Alice shoot

A little later than promised. I didn't get to take any photos of Alice this weekend, but have in stead taken some with my phone this evening.
And yes, it's my computer in the background...sorry about that, but I didn't have the energy to set up a backdrop XD
I'll hopefully get to take some better photos of her soon, but here is a few pics to show off her new dress ;)

I still need to figure out how to secure the headband to her wig, as I don't like the look when I tie it under her hair - it makes the wig look weird.
I'm also considering sewing some pink pearls and stuff on the dress...to make it more pink and cute XD
The white makes her look so clean, so I think adding pink peals etc. would soften the look a little ^^
I'm actually also considering if the shoes are good enough...I'm just not sure if there are any better ones out there? >_<"

Photoshoot

Yesterday was the day when I finally pulled myself together and painted a faceup on Alice.
I wanted so much to be able to participate in Peak's Woods photo competition, so it had to be done yesterday so that I could take photos of her today. And I did it, and I'm actually quite happy with the result. Unfortunately my MSC has gotten old (or at least the can I used) so the torso will have to be redone as the bite marks are flaking off :(

But anyways! Here are some of the pictures from today's shoot :D

As I was just cleaning my BJD image folders, I found these two photos I took for the monthly competition on Resin Garden - the Danish BJD community's main forum.
It was for the January theme - "out of darkness"

The first picture was my entry picture. As Alice did not (and still don't) have a faceup, I chose a picture that focussed more on her bitemarks in stead of her face, and named the picture "I'll pay you back for this" .

I promised Lise to show the effects of the Flash Diffusers I mentioned buying on the 9th of January.
The pictures are from yesterday when I played around with Alice, but I need to do a bit cleaning in my room before I can give Alice her faceup, so this is it for now.

The less natural light there is, the more clear yellow or blue the motif becomes. On the first picture with the blue diffuser, the sandy color of the dress' shirt shines better through the blue - if that makes sense. It's really a great tool to play with. I like how it's not like a filter you just put on top of the picture, but it's more integrated I think. ^^

The white diffuser gives the picture a more warm feeling in my opinion. Here in Denmark, we have a very cold and clear light so it is normally only in the summer we get a chance at warm light. I think I will be using this diffuser most ;P

FINALLY!! The day came when I could go get Alice home from the post office.

YES! Today it happened! My note from customs told me I could go pick Alice up from the local Post Office. Today it is exactly 120 days since I ordered her, so that was a pretty long wait. I think I almost grew a beard. >_<"

Anyway, I was really surprised that the Danish customs only wanted me to pay around $38 for her, I thought I would need to cough up the triple of that sum. Phew so this months budget is saved! XD

Any anyway...I went and picked up the package and it was SO smaller and lighter than I am used to. She is my first doll under 58cm, so I was really surprised that I could easily carry her around and stuff. So nice. ^^
When I got home I immediately grabbed my camera and started documenting the box opening:

 

I was so excited about the resin color, and it is just as I thought, so I'm really really glad! She was totally worth the wait!
The clothes from Taobao is a bit big, but it looks really cute on her I think. The hat is sliding down at times though, but I should be able to fix that somehow, and if not, the set is just as cute without the hat ;P
I really like the eyes. I think they will really be awesome once I get her faceup done ^^
I might also want to get some brown socks for her...the white ones were the best of the three pairs I have, but I think brown ones would be better. XD
I've just been in happy-happy land all day because she is so perfect :3

Shipping notice

I just got the best news!! Peak's Woods finally sent my Alice!! :D
I'm so thrilled. The best thing that could happen before my exam tomorrow!

Now i just need to pull myself together and pass my exam...otherwise you will be suffering very depressed blog entries for a while XD
But OMG! She is on her way! My Alice will be hooome~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, I'll go study now...

Consepts on The Crew

Yesterday I used www.dreamself.me to create the consepts of the 5 dolls I am waiting for.
You can see the pics under the 'The Crew' tab in the top of this blog.

I've search a lot for a doll creator that had both male and female stuff, AND was full body. But I saw the cute avatars Akatsuki from fushitebjd.blogspot.com had made, and wanted to use that creator to make my own. It has been really helpfull to make the avatars, since I've become more at peace with how my dolls should look and be and stuff. So the avatars are quite close to the ideas I have in my head on how my dolls will actually look. ^^

The story is far from finished, not even really begun, but I will probably write on it more seriously when I get Alice home. I think she will be a really big inspiration for me to write the story properly.

A girl on DoA has already recieved her Alice, so I hope it'll not be long before I hold my own. The color looks lighter on her (the DoA member) pictures than on the PW promotion pics, but it looks really nice anyway.

Package recieved from Taobao

The stuff from Taobao has reached my home, and I was thrilled to find most of the items even better than the sales pictures shown.

First off the dress for Alice is just amazing! It's just as it looks on the photos, just even more awesome in reality. The bow on the hat might need some extra stitching, but that's nothing. All in all I am really positively surprised by the quality considering the price. I only payed 188 yuan for the whole set of shirt, skirt, cape, hat and neckt-frill-thing so that has really been a bargain. So I'd have no worries buying from Odd Aristocratic again someday. ^^

The brown boots turned out to be black, but that is not really a problem, seeing as I will definitely use them anyway. They are very nice despite being black in stead of brown XD
I also bought a pair of white Mary Janes with pink 'ribbons'. On the sales pics the ribbons seem baby pink, but they turned out to be much more pink pink....as in shocking pink. But they are very cute, and I think they helped me determine, that Nellie will wear baby pink, and Lucy will like pink pink. Oh to have two girls who like pink. But it was nice to get it sorted out so that I know more about what sort of clothes to buy for them.

The glass eyes are much more colorful than on the sales pic which is really nice. I'm so excited to see how the will look on Alice. They seem much prettier in real life than on the sales pics. :D

Last but not least the socks. They are much better sown than shown on the sales pics. They seem like better quality than on those pics. I don't know who will wear which socks, but it's nice to already have a selection.

My conclusion, after having looked through all the stuff in the parcel was, that I shall soon order from Taobao again, and that Taobaotrends really does a great job. :)

Now I just need to find som cute, matching school uniforms for Lucy and Loki, and a pretty lolita-ish dress in babypink and babyblue for Nellie and Annabelle. It's not easy because I'm very picky.

Happy New Year!!

I've had a massive cold over the holidays, starting from the 23th December...yay....so I've been out cold...haha...

Anyway, I've constantly checked my email over the holidays, in hope to get a shipping notice from PW saying they've shipped Alice out...so far no luck, but in the FOF thread on DoA one or two people have already recieved their shipping notice, so I hope it is just a matter of days now. The latest on DoA to recieve shipping notice for a halloween event doll ordered hers with special makeup and stuff, so I hope mine is not that far behind as I ordered mine blank. >_<
I hate waiting... XD

I also payed my 2nd installment of my layaway on PW, and I just realized how long I'll have to wait to get my group together. oO" Ah well, I'll just have to practice some patience here...

So yeah, nothing much to tell at the moment...so I should probably just go back to studying for my exam next week. (Yeah, I'm procrastinating) ^^"

Oh right! Small update! I've sold my Luts Senior Delf Dahlia. I'm really happy that she found a new owner. ^^ So now I just need to find a new home for my AngelsDoll A-line 70cm Michael. Seems like AngelsDoll is out of business. I've heard rumors they will be back later this year with new stuff, but their site has been offline for almost a year now. :O

Leekeworld order

I have had my eyes set on a certain wig from Leekeworld for some time now, and I saw that it had only few of the colors I like left when I looked today, so I decided to organize a small group order with my sisters and my friend Anne.

The wig I ordered was the W129_D in NaturalBlack for Alice. I actually had this particular style in mind for Lucy, but I decided it had to be for Alice, and that Lucy will have a straight hair wig. I'm still unsure as to the hair color for Lucy, if it will be blonde or light brown.
I also ordered some glitter powder for faceups. All my dolls will be shipped without faceups, and I want them to be a bit sparkly. :)

I'm not really sure if Leekeworld wigs will fit the PW FOF head, but I will try asking on Den of Angels if anyone there has any experience with that. ^^

Names

I did some brainstorming yesterday evening to find names for the dolls I have on layaway. So far I only had a name for Alice, so I've felt quite sort of neglectfull towards all the other dolls.
But fear not, I think I have found some great names for my little army of cuteness.

My v.f. Alice will - as you know - be named Alice Dé Dracûl
My Cheshire Goon will be named Lucy
My Dorothy Young will be named Nellie
Her twin Mr Hollow will be named Annabelle
And my Naomi boy will be named Loki

I look forward to get them in my hands and hope the names will be as fitting in real life as they are in my head ;D

Spending all that money...why not spend some more!

As I wrote earlier, I ordered some stuff for Alice and the others.
My sister told me about Taobao a long time ago, but I didn't really have the energy to get acustomed to using an agent and stuff, so I never used it until a week or so ago. I found that Taobao has a lot of awesome stuff for BJDs and for a great price too, even with the agent fee.

So I made an order through Taobaotrends, which is really easy, and it took about two days and it was ordered. At the moment I am waiting for Taobaotrends to recieve the items and validate if they are as described. I'm really looking forward to see, how Taobaotrends are to deal with.

So, I decidet to start making this blog today.
I've thought about making a blog about my dolls for a long time, but today I finally decided to do something about it. I do admit, I got very inspired by some of the people from Resin Garden - the Danish forum for BJD. ;)

It all started, when I thought I didn't have the time and space for my 3 large dolls; a Peak's Woods Wake Up Cue, a Luts Senior Delf Dahlia and an Angelsdoll 70cm Michael.
So far, I've only sold one of them - the beautifull PW doll - but I already have 3 dolls and 2 floating heads on their way. Well, the first one, a Peak's Woods FOF v.f. Lady Alice in gray-blue skin from their Halloween event this year...I do confess, she might be the reason I decided to have an all tiny family.

I am currently waiting to get her shipped, but she is payed and should be shipped soon. ^^
Her name will be Alice Dé Dracûl and she is the daughter of the president of the Republic of Transylvania, a parallel universe, and is searching to learn the mysteries of the human world.
I have already ordered her clothes, and I think it will be just perfect for her. But I can show what I have in mind for her in the next post.

Only a month after I ordered Alice, Peak's Woods announced that they would hold a winter event, giving a free FOF head with every FOF doll from 1st ~ 15th December. So evil! I couldn't resist and ended up arranging a layaway for 2 dolls with 2 extra heads.

A Mr Hollow girl in normal skin, because I just love those big, doe-like eyes. I haven't found a name for her yet, but I do know that she will be the twin sister of the Dorothy Young I ordered with this girl.

The Dorothy Young head will soon get a body, as I will probably order bodies for the extra heads soon after finishing the layaway for the dolls in March.
The two twins will get lolita dresses and be darn cute. So now you are warned :P

I did order one boy, a Naomi, because he has the right amount of cheekyness about him to make him fit the character I have in mind for him.

With the Naomi boy, I ordered a Cheshire Goon head for the last girl I have in mind. She will be Alice's best human friend, and she is very adventurous. So they will have a lot of fun together I am sure. :)













So that's it for now. This will be my doll family and I really can't wait for them to arrive. But until they do, I will just spam this blog with stuff I buy for them from Taobao and whereever ^^
